TAD PGS, INC. is currently seeking an Engineering Support Specialist for one of our clients in Kent, WA.

Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Job Description:

  • Conduct analyses and provide recommendations for corrective actions for equipment, materials, supplies, and vehicle issues that impact the District.

  • Prepare reports on study findings and recommendations. Use analysis to create detailed presentations based on findings and present recommendations/solutions to District Managers and supervisors.

  • Support the development of any new project authorization requests (PARs) for the District on both electrical and non-electrical capital projects.

  • Draft/prepare documentation for necessary facility modifications when required.

  • Support the Non-Electric Plant (NEP) program for the District.

  • Participate in studies, analyses, and evaluations of NEP facilities. Draft/prepare initial project scopes and justifications.

    Support acquisition of tools and equipment for the District:

  • Work with District Manager and supervisors to identify Tools and Equipment Acquisition Program (TEAP) needs;

  • Verify that requests are properly scoped and justified, and provide cost estimates according to established criteria and processes;

  • Provide recommendations on replacement, based on knowledge of the frequency of maintenance and costs, and uses of the equipment;

  • Research availability of equipment, sources, delivery options and work to expedite delivery of equipment to validate that system needs are met.

  • Coordinate vehicle replacements for the District. Track vehicle maintenance via GSA website.

    Maintain CLIENT’s asset register of power system equipment in the District:

  • Research discrepancies of power system equipment information for System Equipment Records (SERs);

  • Enter SERs into the asset register;

  • Gather required information and enter new equipment into the asset register and remove retired equipment from the asset register;

  • Gather equipment information for TLM asset register;

  • Perform crosschecks on equipment information such as position number, substation location, equipment component, model numbers, etc.

  • with various databases and hard copy information to validate data quality;

  • Verify that equipment identification information is of the correct relationship to other components and equipment.

  • Research various databases for missing information.

  • Assist the District Managers with creating and implementing processes and changes to the Resource/Inventory program for the District.

  • Facilitate and perform the physical inventory of power system materials and spare parts. Perform post- inventory reconciliation.

  • Research inventory problems such as overages, underages, and identify projects for which an inventory item may have been used but not documented.

  • Search for and analyze information such as quantities and types, trace sequences of transactions to resolve questions, and prepare entries for supply record systems.

  • Verify correct costing of inventory usage.

  • Using CLIENT established processes, locate and issue power system equipment, spare parts and materials for maintenance or construction activities.

  • Verify correct costing of equipment, spare parts and materials.

  • Query databases associated with equipment and material information systems to provide ad-hoc reports for special studies.

  • Analyze results to investigate unusual usage and identify trends for future orders. Present findings and recommended changes to district managers and supervisors.

  • Monitor compliance reports and reports anomalies to manager.

  • Order equipment numbers and CLIENT identification tags.


  • High School Graduate or GED certificate required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business management, logistics management, engineering or a related technical field is desirable; Associates Degree is highly desirable.

  • 5-9+ years of engineering operations experience required.

  • This experience may encompass inventory control/coordination, production coordination, fleet coordination, material requisition/coordination or similar positions.Broad knowledge of engineering operations policies and procedures such as material and equipment inventory and control is required

  • Knowledge of and experience with processes, automated records and control systems for acquisitions, accountability, control and disposal of facilities, equipment, materials, supplies, vehicles, and other resources is required.

  • 2-3 years minimum experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, SharePoint and Outlook is required.

  • (Proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 is required)

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing sufficient to make recommendations to resolve operating problems.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

  • Must be capable of applying a fundamental knowledge, principles and practices in as­signed technical areas.

  • Required to perform a variety of routine and repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions, in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Ability to apply discretion and technical skills to situations as required.

    Additional Requirements:

  • The selected candidate will be required to sign a CLIENT Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of the contract assignment

  • Position involves some travel to field locations (up to 15%)

  • Must obtain and keep current CLIENT Access Permit (See attached)

  • Valid drivers license is required

  • Obtain and keep current First Aid/AED/CPR certification

  • Personal Protection Equipment is Required:ASTM F2413-11, Class 75EH rated footwear with over the ankle lace up and rigid sole and heel

  • White Hard Hat

  • Electrical and Arc Flash protective clothing and PPE as required by OSHA and consistent with CLIENT Safety and health policy for electric work inside and around CLIENT substation facilities (infrequent user)

  • Other PPE as required by OSHA for work to be performed

  • This position may be eligible for situational off-site work, subject to the completion of a Supplemental Labor Offsite Work Memorandum of Understanding

  • RSA token will only be utilized when conducting work directly related to the API.

  • Any other work is unauthorized. Contract Worker is responsible for the safe-keeping of the CLIENT-issued RSA Token at all times.

  • If the RSA Token is lost or compromised, immediately contact the COTR.

  • All information associated with the work performed offsite must be maintained in the CLIENT network environment.

  • No CLIENT information will be allowed to be transmitted, stored, and created, etc., on the contract worker’s personal devices.

  • Contract personnel must follow all CLIENT and government-wide security, asset management, and cyber security policies and procedures.

  • Offsite work may only be performed within the CLIENT service area unless approved by the Supplemental Labor Management Office (SLMO).

  • Contract personnel must keep their employer informed of their work location at all times and must coordinate any changes with their employer and SLMO before the change occurs.

  • Will be expected to complete training on Asset Suite, Sunflower, Cascade, and be proficient in their use as a core component of this position.
