Swedish Medical Center Patient Services Coordinator II, Swedish Cancer Institute in Seattle, Washington
Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator II (1.0 FTE, Days) to work in Medical Oncology at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA.
We are seeking a detail focused, caring, and thoughtful individuals to complete patient services coordination while promoting the goals and upholding the ideals of Swedish Medical Center in providing excellent care and experience for our diverse patient population. The Patient Services Coordinator II provides support and clinic coordination of multiple patient care services as well as patient orientation for the Swedish Cancer Institute on multiple campuses, exercising independence in the planning and accomplishment of a wide spectrum of clerical duties.
In this position you will:
Schedule patient appointments and follow up appointments, and subsequent treatments
Acquire insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations
Prepare and maintain the patients’ medical records
Answering multiple phone lines and triaging calls
Educate and train new and current employees on protocols and processes
Act as a professional liaison and information resource with patients, families, and other departments
Partner in the orientation and training of new staff
Occasionally be assigned projects to accomplish independently
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school education or GED
Medical Terminology Certificate or successful completion of course within 6 months from date of hire
Successful completion of Oncology administrative training within 6 months
Knowledge of MS Word and Windows based applications
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience in a healthcare setting
Associate Degree or equivalent from a college or technical school
Experience obtaining insurance verifications , referrals, and authorizations
