  • Creates visual assets in a multimedia title in any of the following areas: 3D modeling, texturing, mapping, lighting/shading under the direction of a Lead Artist

  • May assist with asset organization and management

  • May assist with the creation of conceptual art work

  • May assist with effects and animation of models

  • Works with Lead Artist and other team members to achieve a cohesive style

Typical task breakdown and rhythm:

  • There is a daily stand-up meeting that is 20-30 minutes at 10:30am

  • Mostly will be working on fixing bugs within Maya; There is a PM that maintains the bug backlog; This person will be expected to provide timelines on each bug and what resources are needed for it

  • Some bugs are more complicated, as long as a couple days

  • This role is not going to be creating something, they will be working within existing code

Daily schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 10am-4pm core hours

  • Should work 40 hours/week around these hours

  • Degrees or certifications required: None specifically; The experience and knowledge is more important; Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Architecture or related field and/or certificate of completion in 3D preferred

  • 3 plus years of experience in creating 3D graphics required

  • 3 years of industry experience; Ideally would have worked in animation or Gaming

  • This is a 3D Character Artist - sponsor doesn't want to see 3D generalist, environments, etc.; They need a full understanding of anatomy, clothing, character art, etc.

  • Extensive knowledge of graphics software (i.e. Photoshop) and 3D modeling software (i.e. Maya, 3D StudioMax) required

  • Some basic knowledge of web design and web technologies (HTML, CSS) may be required

  • Conceptual sketching skills preferred

  • Ability to ensure photo-realism

  • Portfolio review required

  • Experience in the Desktop and Console

  • Scripting skills required for the role are Python and more specifically PyMEL

  • Experience with shipped titles a plus

Technology the contractor should have experience in (Adobe, 3DS Max, Maya, Zbrush, Unity, etc.):

  • Maya Pipeline tool

  • Substance Designer is a plus

Top skills:

  • Maya (3 years)
